Clinch back buttons, also known as prong back buttons, are used in upholstery for fast, secure and economical tufting of furniture like headboards, restaurant booths and bars. The button is anchored by bending its wire prongs over an optional washer on the back of the fabric, which prevents the prongs from pulling out and helps prevent the fabric from tearing.
